Brad Hompe has considerable experience in the area of corrections, but he also has a lot of education. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Winona State University years ago and followed that up with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. In addition to his more formal academic education, Brad also has has law enforcement certifications from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, MN, as well as Firefighter I Certification that he earned from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin.

All through his career in the corrections industry, Brad Hompe has worked as a prison staff employee, but he also has served as a jail inspector and as an instructor and trainer at one time or another. He is now seen as a top-notch expert when it comes to all aspects of prison operations. His expertise comes from his experience in every aspect of corrections facility operations, including planning and design and policy development in many areas, including the use of force. He has also led the development and implementation of training and evaluation and incident management programs.

To work in the jail and prison field, it requires a set of unique skills on the part of the employees. This work involves not only mastering different occupational issues that have to do with a multitude of different entities involved, but there is also a physicality required. Brad Hompe has a long history of working in the jail and prison field as a prison employee, jail inspector, instructor/trainer in addition to consultancy positions. In addition to others, he has worked at the Wisconsin Prison System, the Wisconsin Jails and other jails nationally which keeps him abreast of developing tactics in the jail and prison system nationwide. Brad Hompe is continually working to better himself in order to be better for the jails that he works for.
